5-Slide Presentation

Apply the course methodology to your own research (or a topic of your choice). Each slide has a clear purpose.

  1. Problem & Research Questions

What problem are you solving and why does it matter? Who cares?

  2. Assumptions & Scope

What are you NOT addressing? What are you taking for granted?

  3. State of the Art & Related Problems

What classes of problems are similar to yours? What can you learn from how they were solved?

  4. Data, Experiments & Definition of Done

Where does data come from? What concrete experiments will you run? What would success look like?

  5. Next Steps, Blockers & Risks

What you'll do next, what could go wrong, what you don't know yet.

Format

  • All students submit 5 slides with speaker notes via GitHub Classroom before the session
  • Selected students present live in class
  • Peer review: each student reviews ~4 assigned peers' slides
  • "I don't know yet" is a valid, honest answer
